Hey, I’m Allison
I'm the owner and lead Instructor behind Serō. To keep it short— I’m an avid learner who’s spent significant time beyond my initial 500 hour Pilates teacher training to stay up to date on current research and exercise theories.
I have a holistic approach to teaching movement. Let me break down how that impacts your session. I teach from a perspective of exploring Pilates based exercise with an understanding that our bodies are neither good nor bad, they just are.
I use body neutral cues and will never mention an idealized body type. You know your body best. My goal is to give you the tools to recognize that. My approach helps you hold a conversation with your body to get stronger and develop body awareness. You have complete autonomy over how you move and how you practice an exercise, all while being guided with feedback. If something isn’t doesn’t feel good, then you don’t have to do it! And we will find an alternative. It’s as simple as that.
Live your life and move from a place of self-trust. I teach to get you there.
I strive to make Pilates for everybody without just paying lip service to diversity. I don't always get it right and I am always educating myself and learning.
There's no room for hate, racism, homophobia, or misogyny at Serō or in my teaching. Love is love and LGBTQIA+ people have every right to safely be themselves. I use your pronouns. I believe women's rights are human rights.
If you’re into it, read on.
